Now More Than Ever- A Call to Advocacy for Students

The new year has brought many developments in the educational space at the federal and state levels. It has sparked discussion across the country. As an advocacy coalition for black students and all students, we are closely monitoring these developments and will keep you informed.

It is also Black History Month, a time for reflection on the legacy of African Americans and our contributions to the United States. It is the time for BEAC to look back on what we have achieved as a community and to continue to do the important work of improving the educational experiences and outcomes of black students. 

2025 is a pivotal year for BEAC and for students and teachers, and we need your input and recommendations to develop the right tools and resources for you as administrators, board members, teachers, and educational leaders to improve the educational experiences for black students. 

We want to hear from you: 

• What tools and resources do you need as an educator of black students?

• What tools and resources do you need to improve the educational environment for black students?

• What are you doing in your work to improve equity in your classroom, school, or district?
